Years of training: 12 years. Started in April, 1994. The time of development of Karate in Latvia. Motivation to start was the classmates’ willing to go and try
Years of teaching: 9 years (3+6). Started from 1997 as an assistant of Sensei Alexey Bistrov. In 2000 gathered my own group of students in one of the kindergarten of Jelgava. After one year moved to a bigger hall of the close-located school (till now)
Examiners and Seminaries: K.Funakoshi, Sumi, J.G. Knobel
Competition Achievements: - FIRST: Open SHINRI Champioship (Baltics) in 1995 - 2nd place in Kumite - 1997-2005 year the Champion of Latvia (Kumite, Kata, Team Kumite and Kata) - Winner, the 2nd and 3rd Prizes in International Championships in the Netherlands (Roosendaal Open, Roosendaal), Belgium (Open Belgium Cup, Geluwe), Germany, etc.
My students’ Achievements: - Local Competitions winners (Open County Championship ‘03, ‘04, ‘05) - National Championship winners and medallists (Latvian Championship 2005) - The 2nd and 3rd Prizes in International Championships in Lithuania - 2nd Place in Team kumite (13th SKDUN World Championship in Halle, Germany) Receive the inspiration from Sensei Jan G. Knobel (JKA Netherlands, 7th Dan). Goals: Keep developing myself, the Traditional Karate in Latvia and bring the inspiration and knowledge to those who need it.
